So you can spray solvent base over water base and visa versa thats what I needed to know because I'm a painter for over 20 years and with house paints latex and oil base paints will not work together without priming over with special primers 1st otherwise will have major problems . I bought an airbrush setup like 15 years ago used it a few times then put it away to busy but I just started getting back into it and am about to to an 1/18 scale huey and couldn't find the info anywhere if can paint with solvent for OD Green and use acrylic for everything else since thats what I already have .. please let me know if that is right or should just go buy more and do all with same kind of paints thanks for the info

what is levelling thinner, are those paints water based or solvent based, and is there an equivalent thinner I could use

I know this is an older video, but I was curious do you change out your needle at all or do you just use the same size needle to paint everything? Also what PSI are you pushing?

A very nice build, Andy...the Moraine Saulnier is one of my favorite aircraft from the era (Newport 17, Sopwith Camel and Jennies are also favorites of mine)...I particularly like the way you incorporated Bare Metal Foil, copper paint, copper buff and various paints (eg., sepia) for realistic effects...very professional results...keep up the good work and keep those antiques coming...thank you, sir!

That is a stunning build, it looks really good. I have seen that foil but never been brave enough to try it myself although I do like the True Metal. If you put that on and leave it for a few hours it does buff up to quite a good shine. I have done quite a few models with no weathering, imagining them as museum models like those American warbirds polished within and inch of their lives.

AK real color is pretty dank (the solvent based stuff), it even mixes well with Tamiya and Mr Color (my local hobby shop has a huge selection of AK) but the AK thinner stinks. MLT makes it go on real nice.

I really enjoyed this build. Something different. Not another F4, Mustang, or Spitfire. There are so many aircraft from the 1920s and 1930s waiting to be modelled.

Nice job Andy? I’m sure you’ve heard and seen other modelers use black CA for seams. I have to admit, it really can be a time saver! It might help you with getting rid of those seams easier next build. Thanks for sharing your build!👍🏾

That seems on the surface like a benign little kit, but there is loads of model building packed into it. I've got to try the foil method...that looked brilliant.

Really informative video , Thank you for taking the time to show us newbies some of the tips and downfalls of airbrushing I do have one question though I tend to use mainly Tamiya paints , but also i have quite a bit of the Vallijo model colours aswell and if the model that in building requires me to mix different paints is it ok to mix Tamiya and say a vallijo if i do not have the exact colour needed in Tamiya but do have equivalent colour in vallijo . Many thanks for your help .

Always love watching and listening to these films. Just amazed at how much detail you put into finishing these kits. Would like to see more vintage cars like the Type 35 Bugatti you did a while back. The modelling world seems saturated with war planes for some reason?
